Like the American superheroes X-men, fantastic four, Superspiderman...etc, in China we've superheroes too. Based on a Chinese legend in the Ming Dynasty, the story is about a couple who have give birth to
ten sons after swallowing 10 (rice?)pearls.
The older they get, the more they realize they each one have a superstrength ability to be hanged around with.
The usual story how to use their powers to help and protect people is universal.
More important is about the relationships between the brothers, the care, respect and sacrifices for their "parents", the triangle between two brothers and a girl, the evolution from their poor background till a respected middle-class family, ...
And of course an evil person, that has a manipulative character: even adults are doubtfull about his eloquant talents; so, a real politician avant la lettre
Many children are growing up with this tale and you can undersand the moralizing background of this story if you can watch the excellent TVB comedy-serial that's suitable for the whole family.
