To economize

These days, everything is getting expensive. To advance in the future, you've to invest for your future, but also harmonize it with some finance management.
You can find many economizing plans at the Internet, but as many persons, there are
unlimited many plans. So this is one of my personal saving tips, without cutting your prosperity:

Electricity:
What you don't (need to) use, will not be calculated.
In the evening, turn all the electric consumer units off with a click or cut from the circuit. No stand-bys, unless it is necessarily, like updating-decoders for TV, thermostats for boilers and heaters, cooling devices, Dect phones (Better is to replace it to an analogue one or only a mobile)
Computers and modems need to be completely shut down. So you have lesser electric pollution with wifi and microwaves.
Use a radio-remoted battery-based clock instead of a clock/CD/radio on the electric current. Or simply your mobile in flight mode.
For lighting, it's convenient to use warm coloured and covered energy saving illumination equipments.

Natural Gas:
It's more advantageous for house-heating than oil fuel. And if it's paying monthly a fixed amount even better.
You can invest in a heat pomp, but only if you can afford it.
Of course you don't need to heat the whole house 24 hours a day. Only your living places (when you're there) will be all right. Each of the heating corps have also a thermostate and most of the boilers have a winter and summer stand. Make use of it.
Don't forget to clean each year the chimney (to avoid a CO2 intoxication).
Vacuum-cleaning without bags is good, but a carpet-sweeper like the old days in combination with a dustpan and brush is better.

Water:
If you've space outside your home, have a rain collector. A huge barrel with a tap will do. You can put your rain-pipe in it. This water can be used to sprinkle plants, toilets, washing (the car for example), but never for drinking water.
By taking a bath or washing your face, you can use a little (washing) tub (max. 10 liter) in combination with a shower. The widespread rinse water by showering can be accomodated and used for toilets.
If you like a warm shower, the cold water can be filled in a tub first.
We don't need to say that cleaning dishes manually  saves soap, electricity and water.
An energy saving washing machine is really usefull.

Car:
Living in a big city with many possibilities of public transport is a reason for not buying a car.
But if you live outside, try to not use a car. Or do car-sharing (pooling), cab-driving, cycling...
To maintain a car is expensive, even if you have a hybrid or electric one. The manufacturers are not stupid to not gain some money with 'green' cars. In time, maybe they will be cheaper than fossile ones.
But it is o so comfortable and a piece of your freedom.

Multimedia:
Computer: a laptop/notebook with cooling underground and a mouse, tablet
Software: open sources
DVD: renomated TV serials and library
Books: e-books and library
Music: radio- and internetstreaming, library
Games: only on a computer, tablet
Comics: second hand and renomated new, worldwide
Magazines & Papers: Internet, because by publishing, it's already old news, yearly issues
