Hollywood-entertainment are Hitchcock's thrillers, like Psycho, the Birds, Marnie, North by northwest, Rear window, Vertigo... All movies with a power of suggestion. In so far that these charming actors/actresses are taking themselves not serious.
A nice example of the play with the audience is the movie "Charade" with Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn (born in Brussels!). All main characters are playing neither a good or bad person: they are connected with each other so that which one is evil, you can not say... And the funniest of all is that they are comedians, in their way of acting, like the allergic sneezing 'Gideon', the one-armed arm of Scobie, Singin' in the rain-scene of Peter, the contradictory of Reggie's self-confidence and audience-transferred emotions, the suggestion of 250 000 dollar, the drama of Tex, the murderer himself,... What a suggestion of sex and violence in this film!
Isn't it fantastic?
The less special effects there are in the movies, the more the power of suggestion (and a good story of course) makes this movie unforgettable!
