The end of the year is nearby and there are many movies at your TV screen that are boring or repeated Hollywood block-busters and there is no fresh inspiration whatshowever?
We found this Bollywood-film that is funny, deep-minded, explaining the pressure of ambitionous students, globalizing cultures and contradictions, and of course refreshing from all the pulp-movies, coming from the USA.
It is also a huge Indian AND overseas blockbuster of a non-Hollywood film.
3 IDIOTS (Hindi: ३ इडियट्स)
By the name Bollywood, you think of course at long, colourfull Indian movies with the inevitable musical parts, where these moviestars can be placed as Caucasians and not Inidan at all!
Yeah, you are right.
But we have amused a lot with this movie, because it is explaining a lot of the Indian and whole the South-East Asian way of thinking for being ambitious to be at the highest step of the social ladder.
And it's incredibilly funny and sad at the same time, because of the contrasts between rich and poor.
That's the reason why it is a blockbuster in namely the 'developing BRIC-countries'. It's like Slumdog Millionaire but without the entertainment-industry: replace entertainment by education and you're closer to the movie.
