It is very clear that the Belgian Politics are very theatrical and full of symbolic ambiguity.
As an audience we really are, we are very amused/irritated (you can choose) how the BP's are bungling in this Z-serial. Or it must be acting like that and the big Director is Mr. Albert von Sachsen-Coburg.
If you're thinking that the big evil is Mr. Bart de Wever (N-VA) that want to have as quickly as possible a big Flemish ('national' pride!) feeling as the result of the final Belgian State Reform (= more power to the 'rich' Flemish politicians), then you're wrong about it. Practically ALL actual Flemish exercising authorities like LDD, CD&V, VBL, & VLD are guilty on this ridical situation.
Starting from a little regional 'difference of opinion' calling the separation of political authorities in Brussels-Halle-Vilvoorde, the pessimists of our country should say: why not the whole country?
In fact the big reformation should not be so complicated as it should be: the French-speaking part of Belgium (Wallonia) should be independant on the finances for his own government. But his social-economical structure is not so strong as it should be like in the Flanders. And their mentality-changing is equal as in the Flanders, namely NOT: they are both stubborn.
The worst of this all, our Prime MinisterYves Leterme is not so comprimisable as it should be. Or he is really a traitor for Belgium, because he is ACTING incompetent to reign over Belgium although he has all the 'working-equipment' for a good governing policy. And the female president (words and acts) of the CD&V is his vassal...
Happily (?) the Director has always His Deus ex Machina: the three independant intermediaries ('musketeers') who want to prepare a report for a diplomatic consensus between the struggling parties.
But not in 15 days...
And why the ultimatum was on the 15th of July? Just after the Flemish 'national' Day and before the Belgian national Day? Since we know that politicians are mostly going on hollidays in these period, it must be strategized that the consensus is not for 31 July, in memory of the death of the former Belgian King Baldwin, 15 years ago, also the year of the birth of the Federal states Flanders Brussels and Wallonia...
Suddenly all pollitical parties are contented with a delay till September... Maybe seeing the consensus in 15 november, the Belgian Dynasty Day, also D-Day for the German speaking Community in Belgium.
May we finally greet Baldwin with his model of simplicity, complaisance, faithfullness and confidence as people are knowing him eternally...
